Which file types are supported?

JPEG and PNG images, PDF documents, and Office files in DOCX, XLSX and PPTX format.

What kind of metadata is removed?

For photos: EXIF data such as GPS location and camera model, plus IPTC/Photoshop data and embedded comments. For PDFs: title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, dates and the XMP metadata stream. For Office files: author, last modified by, title, subject, keywords, category, company, manager and custom document properties.

Will removing metadata change how my file looks or opens?

No. Only hidden metadata is removed — the visible content, layout and formatting of your file stay exactly the same.

Does this work on digitally signed PDFs?

Any change to a PDF, including metadata removal, invalidates existing digital signatures. If you need to preserve a signature, scrub metadata before signing rather than after.
